Dry Martini | MartiniRecipe.net

dry martiniA dry martini is simply a classic gin martini where the quantity of vermouth has been reduced. To make a gin martini "wet" you add vermouth, to make it a "dry" martini reduce the amount of vermouth. This ratio of gin to vermouth is very personal to the martini drinker, the best thing you can do to find your perfect mix is to experiment.

2 oz (or approx 60 ml) good quality English Gin (we use Tanqueray)
1/4 oz (or approx 7 ml) Noilly Pratt Dry Vermouth
dash orange bitters (we use Regans')
twist of orange peel (or olives if you prefer)
shaved ice

Add the shaved ice to a tall mixing glass.
Pour in the Gin & Dry Vermouth.
Stir.
Add in the dash orange bitters.
Stir again.
Strain and pour into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with the orange peel twist (or the olives, but not both)
